Evidence suggests that social support can reduce the impact of stressful life events and help protect mourners from disorders like PTSD and other emotional problems (Hibberd, Elwood, & Galovski, 2010; Murphy, Lohan, Dimond, & Fan, 1998). This fact is both a strength and a challenge because while many people experience ongoing and appropriate support from family and friends, many do not.

In this webinar, we will discuss common barriers to receiving positive social support, communication, utilizing your existing support system, and locating resources in your community and online.
