See details below

When a loved one or community member dies, adults and caregivers often feel great concern for the children impacted by the loss.  Though supporting bereaved children is of the utmost concern for parents, caregivers, teachers, and clinicians, they often struggle to know what to do or say. In this session, we will provide participants with the tools, resources, and foundational knowledge necessary for supporting bereaved children and adolescents. Specifically, we will discuss:

  • Grief and developmental age
  • Guidelines for talking to children about death and grief
  • Creating a community of support: psychoeducation for the support system
  • Recommended tools and resources
  • Creative remembrance activities
