A strong online presence has become a crucial component of outreach and community presence for many grief centers, hospices, and counseling centers. This session will assist practitioners in understanding how to use a website, blog, and various social media platforms to expand their services and community reach. Led by two professional grief bloggers and mental health practitioners, this session will review the benefits of an online presence, how an online presence can dramatically expand community outreach, and give practical advice on building an online presence from the ground up. The session will share best practices in online community-building and outreach.
Practitioners will leave with concrete tools for assessing, establishing or improving their online presence. Specifically, practitioners will be able to:
- Identify and communicate the benefits of internet-based outreach to improve the reach of services and collaborate with community partners.
- Assess the pros and cons of specific internet tools and establish which may be most beneficial in expanding their specific outreach and community collaboration needs.
- Develop a strategic online plan to supplement their existing outreach initiatives, taking into account budgets, time constraints, and individual online needs
